Director of Operations

Health Wright Products is a privately held Contract Manufacturer of Nutritional Supplements that is seeking for a Director of Operations to join our expanding organization. After twenty-six years of significant growth we are still just at the beginning cycle of our potential and you would be joining a talented and committed team!

Pay

90k – 140k per year, DOE

Job Summary

The Director of Operations leads and directs the Manufacturing and Operations Function. This position requires an individual that loves efficiently creating high quality products and has a passion for continuous improvement and safety. Ensures appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives. Influences, shapes, and integrates strategy for functional areas and participates in setting a growth strategy for the business that is consistent with corporate goals. This role will serve as a key member of the overall company leadership team and report directly to the COO. The Director of Operations will lead the Manufacturing and Operations organization to continuously strengthen a collaborative and learning culture that delivers outstanding performance in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Product Quality, Productivity, and integration of New Products/Processes with high integrity. Our manufacturing process run with 24/7 and require leadership around the clock. The position will be directly responsible for the day–to–day management, performance, direction, and growth of manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining strong trusting relationships with the staff and leadership team. This role builds capability among team to ensure that people, processes, equipment, and facilities are prepared.

A. Lead a culture focused on continuous improvement in the areas of employee engagement, exceeding customer expectations, being an employer of choice, and delivering sustainable and profitable results. Build a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and professionalism, demonstrating active support of the Company’s Core values and policies.

B. Directly supervises, coaches, and inspires Operations Leaders responsible for all aspects of production and achieving key performance measurements related to personnel safety, quality and food safety, service, and cost, while continually improving process reliability and performance.

C. Development, assessment, modification, and implementation of standard procedures and operating systems in sanitation, safety, quality, preventative maintenance, and GMP’s.

D. Foster a team culture that learns, understands, and applies rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)

E. Acts as a change agent by challenging existing approaches and performance within the manufacturing operations areas.

F. Manage a site capability and capacity plan that provides supply assurance to customers and provides agility and clarity to the business leaders with an effective Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.

G. Collaborate with cross functional business leaders (Engineering Development, R&D, Sales, Supplier & Customer Quality, Procurement, HR) to effectively achieve desired performance and behavioral results Extend capabilities to meet market needs and support profitable growth of the products produced by the facility.

H. Leads a culture of collaboration, transparency, and process-development in a highly matrixed organization and rapidly changing organization. Uses influence with internal stakeholders to ensure that business decisions and needs are meet or exceed.

I. Management responsibilities include:

· Typically manages through multiple Managers

· Strategic, tactical, and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department

· Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions, or major projects/programs

· Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend, and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies

· Manages complex projects and maintains effective project management

· Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training, and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

J. Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.

K. Other duties as assigned.

L. Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.

Qualifications

A. Bachelor’s degree focused in Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing or other related field (highly preferred).

B. Demonstrated ability leading a manufacturing team for at least 7 years and more than 10 years in a production environment.

C. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and functional areas.

D. Highly organized and detail oriented.

E. Must have the ability to work under pressure and potentially stressful conditions

F. Under minimal direction, works independently toward department objectives

G. A legal right to work in the United States

H. Must pass a drug screen and a background check in accordance with HWP standards.
