Health Wright Products is a privately held Contract Manufacturer of Nutritional Supplements that is seeking for a Shift Manager to join our expanding organization. After twenty-six years of significant growth we are still just at the beginning cycle of our potential and you would be joining a talented and committed team!
6pm- 6:30a, Thu – Sat every other Wed*
*This position oversees 24/7 operations, flexibility required
65k – 80k per year, DOE
The Shift Manager is responsible for the managing of the workflow of that shift up to and including helping organize and facilitate projects within all departments. The Manager will be monitoring the work of full-time employees, temporary staff, processes, and equipment being used. The Shift Manager ensures that manufacturing processes run reliably and efficiently. This role is responsible for supervising all production personnel who perform duties in the following work centers; Weighing, Powder Blending, Encapsulation, and Packaging and will oversee the operation and completion of production processes and ensure that manufacturing lines have packaging components and any other item needed to complete current manufacturing schedules. In addition, the Manager could be called upon to complete daily paperwork regarding the workflow and report any challenges to management to make sure production goals are met. This position is a working Manager and will also perform duties that are being required of the team they are supervising. It is essential to lead by example in work ethic, attendance and adaptability. A. Perform management functions with a cGMP dietary supplement manufacturing environment per established procedures.
B. Oversee the monitoring of proper stock levels for expendable supplies and components used within the manufacturing process.
C. Responsible for the detail planning, coordination and control of all manufacturing processes to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with GMP’s, customer specifications and on-time delivery.
D. Manage and evaluate machine and employee resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
E. Demonstrates a high degree of honesty, integrity, accountability, ownership, drive, reliability, trustworthiness, and emotional intelligence. Fosters a positive, respectful, safe work environment for all staff. Enforce compliance and application of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) throughout the production area.
F. Responsible for documenting employee activities in terms of performance, corrective action, and attendance.
G. When necessary, review and sign off work orders which may including but not limited to blends, cleanings, beginning of runs, ends of runs, & closing the work order.
H. Review batch records and associated documentation for completeness, legibility, and correctness.
I. Work with quality control to effectively identify, document, and help resolve quality and production issues as needed.
J. Set clear direction and energize production team to support management ‘s goals and objectives, report out daily on KPI.
K. Accurately document any out of specification conditions per established procedures.
L. Accurately track work orders internally during the production process.
M. Monitor and verify completeness of all logs for accuracy, completeness, and legibility.
N. Monitor and communicate any changes to production orders including quantities or changes in schedule.
O. Constantly monitor the production environment for compliance to cGMP requirements.
P. Continually assess safety and insure production employees are working in a safe environment.
Q. Report and monitor any unsafe condition.
R. Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.
S. Punctual and Consistent Attendance
T. Support the department Supervisors and Leads to achieve the objectives of the shift.
U. Monitor all training.
V. Perform and maintain Continuous Improvement opportunities.
W. Prioritize production needs with the maintenance personnel.
X. Other duties as assigned
Y. Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.
A. College Degree preferred
B. 3-5 years’ experience in a supervisory role in a manufacturing environment in lieu of degree
C. Highly organized and detail oriented.
D. Ability to work in a fast paced, results oriented environment.
E. Ability to read, write and speak English and math.
F. A legal right to work in the United States
G. Must pass a drug screen and a background check in accordance with HWP standards.
